These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of DermPro Connect, including our website, mobile applications, software, communications, dashboards, and related services.
DermPro Connect is intended for eligible healthcare professionals and approved Expert Faculty. It is not intended for patient use. Do not submit Protected Health Information or identifiable patient information through the website or platform.
1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of DermPro Connect, including our website, mobile applications, software, communications, dashboards, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
By creating an account, selecting "I Agree," accessing the Platform, or using any Platform feature, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Platform.
If you use the Platform on behalf of an organization, practice, clinic, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Key Definitions

This may include physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other eligible healthcare professionals.
- "Expert Faculty" means an approved expert user who provides educational, peer-to-peer dermatology consultation, written feedback, or live discussion through the Platform.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. You must provide accurate, current, and complete account information and keep that information updated.
If you register as a Health Care Provider, you represent and warrant that you are licensed, credentialed, and in good standing to provide healthcare services in the jurisdiction where you practice.
If you register as Expert Faculty, you represent and warrant that you are properly licensed, credentialed, trained, and in good standing for the educational input and peer-to-peer consultation you provide. Expert Faculty accounts may require review, approval, and verification by DermPro Connect before activation.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You may not share your account or allow another person to use your login credentials.
4. Nature and Scope of the Platform
DermPro Connect is a peer-to-peer educational collaboration platform designed to help Health Care Providers connect with Expert Faculty for dermatology-related educational consultation and case-based discussion.
DermPro Connect does not provide medical care, diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, telehealth services, or emergency services to patients. DermPro Connect is not a healthcare provider, medical group, hospital, payer, insurer, or pharmacy.
Consultations and Expert Faculty feedback are educational, informational, and peer-to-peer in nature. They do not create a physician-patient, provider-patient, or other treatment relationship between any patient and DermPro Connect or between any patient and Expert Faculty.
The Platform is not intended for urgent or emergent medical situations. If a patient may require emergency care, you must follow your local emergency protocols, including calling 911 in the United States or the appropriate emergency service in your jurisdiction.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing by DermPro Connect, the Platform is not intended to function as a regulated medical device, diagnostic tool, treatment tool, patient monitoring tool, clinical decision support system, or substitute for independent clinical judgment.
5. AI-Powered Matching and Platform Assistance
The Platform may use automated tools, matching logic, artificial intelligence, or similar technology to help route Cases, suggest available Expert Faculty, organize information, or improve the user experience.
These tools are used to support workflow and routing only. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent, monitor, predict, or manage any disease or condition, and they should not be relied on as medical advice or as the sole basis for any clinical decision.
6. Platform Services and Consult Types
- Platform Membership. A Platform Membership provides access to eligible Platform features. Membership fees, billing interval, renewal terms, and any applicable trial or promotional details are displayed at checkout.
- Async Case Review. A Health Care Provider may submit a de-identified Case for written educational feedback from Expert Faculty. The Platform may display a target response timeframe, including a 48-hour target, but response timing may vary based on Expert Faculty availability, payment status, and Platform operations.
- Live Consultation. A Health Care Provider may request a live peer consultation with Expert Faculty, either on demand or scheduled in advance where available. Unless otherwise stated, standard Live Consultations are designed for 15 minutes.
- Extension Session. An Extension Session is an immediate continuation of an active Live Consultation with the same Expert Faculty member when both parties need additional time. Extension Sessions are not separate scheduled visits and are not separate on-demand bookings unless DermPro Connect expressly changes this functionality.
- Expert Directory and Profiles. The Platform may provide access to Expert Faculty profiles, availability, specialty areas, and related information. DermPro Connect may update, remove, hide, or correct profile information at any time.
- Non-CME Content. Unless expressly identified as accredited continuing medical education, Platform content and consultations are not continuing medical education credit.
7. Case Submission, De-Identification, and Prohibited PHI
DermPro Connect is not intended to receive Protected Health Information ("PHI") or identifiable patient information unless DermPro Connect expressly states otherwise in writing and appropriate safeguards are in place.
You agree not to submit, upload, transmit, display, or include PHI or identifiable patient information in any Case, file, image, message, feedback document, payment field, profile field, or other Platform area.
Before submitting a Case, you must remove or obscure all patient identifiers, including but not limited to patient names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, medical record numbers, account numbers, insurance identifiers, full-face photographs, unique identifying marks when not clinically necessary, and any other information that could reasonably identify a patient.
You are solely responsible for de-identifying Case materials before submission. DermPro Connect may reject, remove, delete, restrict, or request revision of any Case or User Content that appears to contain PHI or other prohibited information.
8. Expert Feedback and Professional Conduct
Expert Faculty feedback must be educational, case-based, professional, and limited to the de-identified information submitted through the Platform. Expert Faculty must not include PHI or identifiable patient information in written feedback, uploaded documents, live discussion, or other Platform communications.
Expert Faculty must provide feedback consistent with applicable professional standards, licensure requirements, ethical obligations, and these Terms. Expert Faculty are responsible for the content of their feedback and for complying with all laws, rules, and professional obligations applicable to their participation.
Health Care Providers may consider Expert Faculty feedback as one educational input, but must independently evaluate all information before applying it in patient care.
9. Clinical Responsibility
Health Care Providers retain full and sole responsibility for patient care, clinical decisions, diagnosis, treatment, documentation, follow-up, informed consent, prescribing, referrals, and outcomes.
You agree to verify all information before using it in patient care, document your own clinical reasoning in the patient record, and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, and standards of care.
DermPro Connect and Expert Faculty do not assume responsibility for your patient care decisions or for any actions taken or not taken based on Platform information.
10. Fees, Payments, Subscriptions, and Payouts
All fees are shown before purchase or checkout. Fees may include Platform Membership fees, Async Case Review fees, Live Consultation fees, Extension Session fees, taxes, processing fees, or other charges as displayed in the Platform.
Platform Memberships may renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date. Unless otherwise required by law or applicable app store policy, canceling a membership stops future renewal but does not automatically provide a prorated refund for the current billing period.
Consultation fees are separate from Platform Membership fees unless expressly stated otherwise. Expert Faculty may set or adjust their own rates where the Platform allows. The applicable price will be displayed before payment.
Payments may be processed by Stripe, Stripe Connect, Apple, Google, or other third-party payment providers. Your use of payment services is also subject to the applicable payment provider terms. DermPro Connect does not store full payment card numbers.
Expert Faculty payouts may be handled through Stripe Connect or another payment provider. Expert Faculty must complete any required payout setup and verification before receiving paid bookings or payouts. Payout timing, holds, reserves, verification, and account limitations may be controlled by the payment provider.
You are responsible for all taxes, duties, and charges associated with your transactions, income, payouts, or use of the Platform, unless DermPro Connect is legally required to collect or remit them.
11. Trials, Promotions, and Credits
DermPro Connect may offer trials, promotional codes, discounts, credits, or limited free consultations at its discretion. Such offers may be changed, limited, suspended, or discontinued at any time.
Trials, credits, promotional benefits, and unused consultation benefits may expire, may not be transferable, may have usage limits, and may not be redeemable for cash unless required by law.
12. Cancellations, Refunds, No-Shows, and Failed Payments
- Membership cancellation. You may cancel a Platform Membership according to the cancellation tools available in the Platform or through the applicable app store. Access generally remains active through the end of the paid billing period unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law.
- No prorated membership refunds. Unless otherwise required by law or applicable app store rules, membership fees are not prorated or refunded for partial billing periods.
- Pre-start live consultation cancellation. If a paid Live Consultation is canceled before it starts, DermPro Connect may provide a refund, credit, or rebooking option depending on who canceled, the reason for cancellation, and payment provider limitations.
- Expert cancellation or no-show. If Expert Faculty cancels before the consultation starts or does not attend, the Health Care Provider may be eligible for a refund, credit, or rebooking option.
- Health Care Provider no-show. If the Health Care Provider does not attend a scheduled or accepted consultation, no automatic refund is required, though DermPro Connect may review exceptions at its discretion.
- After consultation begins. Once a Live Consultation begins, no automatic refund is required. DermPro Connect may review technical failures, platform errors, or other exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
- Extension Sessions. Extension Session fees are not refundable once the extension is purchased and the session continues, unless DermPro Connect determines there was a platform error or other exceptional circumstance.
- Async Case Reviews. If an Async Case Review is not completed within the stated target timeframe due to Expert Faculty availability or Platform issues, DermPro Connect may offer a refund, credit, reassignment, or other resolution at its discretion.
- Payment provider rules. Refunds for purchases made through Apple, Google, Stripe, or another payment provider may be subject to that provider's rules, timelines, and approval process.
- Failed payments. If payment fails, is reversed, is disputed, or is suspected of fraud, DermPro Connect may suspend access, cancel bookings, delay payouts, or require updated payment information.
13. User Content and License to Operate the Platform
You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to the rights granted in these Terms. By submitting User Content, you grant DermPro Connect a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, transmit, process, evaluate for security and policy compliance, route, format, and administer User Content as needed to operate, support, secure, improve, and administer the Platform.
You represent that you have the rights, permissions, and authority needed to submit your User Content and to grant the rights described above. You are responsible for ensuring that User Content does not contain PHI, confidential third-party information, infringing material, or unlawful content.
DermPro Connect may use aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information for analytics, quality improvement, business operations, and product improvement, provided it does not identify a patient or individual user in violation of applicable law or our Privacy Policy.
14. Privacy, Security, and Communications
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information.
DermPro Connect uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect Platform information, but no system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for using secure devices, networks, and credentials when accessing the Platform.
By using the Platform, you consent to receive service-related communications, including verification emails, password reset emails, appointment notifications, payment notices, administrative notices, and other transactional communications. You may also receive optional marketing communications where permitted by law.
15. Prohibited Conduct
- Submit, upload, transmit, or include PHI or identifiable patient information.
- Use the Platform for emergency care, urgent clinical decision-making, or as the sole basis for diagnosis or treatment.
- Misrepresent your identity, credentials, licensure, specialty, affiliation, or authority.
- Share your account, sell access, or allow unauthorized use of your login credentials.
- Bypass payment flows, avoid Platform fees, solicit off-platform payments, or use the Platform to circumvent DermPro Connect business rules.
- Upload malware, harmful code, illegal content, infringing content, or content that violates third-party rights.
- Scrape, copy, reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or attempt unauthorized access to the Platform.
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or act unprofessionally toward any user, Expert Faculty member, Health Care Provider, administrator, or DermPro Connect representative.
16. Intellectual Property
DermPro Connect and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in the Platform, including software, design, workflows, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, service marks, branding, user interface elements, and related intellectual property, excluding User Content.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, create derivative works from, or otherwise misuse any part of the Platform except as expressly allowed by DermPro Connect.
17. Third-Party Services
The Platform may integrate with third-party services such as payment processors, app stores, video or communication tools, hosting providers, analytics providers, email tools, or other vendors. DermPro Connect is not responsible for third-party services, downtime, processing delays, verification holds, account limitations, or third-party terms.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to separate terms, policies, fees, and requirements from those third parties.
18. Mobile App and App Store Terms
If you access or download the Platform through Apple App Store, Google Play, or another app store, you also agree to the applicable app store terms. The app store provider is not responsible for providing support, maintenance, refunds, warranties, or claims related to the Platform except as required by its own policies.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and mandatory app store terms, the mandatory app store terms will control only to the extent of the conflict.
19. Availability, Updates, and Changes to the Platform
DermPro Connect may update, modify, suspend, remove, or discontinue any feature, workflow, price, membership benefit, consultation type, or Platform function at any time. We may also perform maintenance, testing, or upgrades that affect availability.
Some features may be new, experimental, or in beta. Such features may be incomplete, may contain errors, may change without notice, and may not be available to all users.
20. Account Suspension and Termination
DermPro Connect may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access to the Platform at any time if we believe you violated these Terms, provided inaccurate information, failed credential review, submitted PHI, created legal or security risk, failed to pay required fees, engaged in misconduct, or used the Platform in a way that may harm DermPro Connect, users, patients, or third parties.
You may stop using the Platform at any time. Termination does not relieve you of payment obligations incurred before termination or obligations that by their nature should survive termination.
21. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
DermPro Connect disclaims all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, reliability, security, and error-free operation.
DermPro Connect does not warrant that any consultation, feedback, match, response time, payment, payout, notification, or Platform function will be uninterrupted, accurate, timely, complete, or suitable for any particular clinical purpose.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DermPro Connect and its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, and Expert Faculty are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or enhanced damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or patient care outcomes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DermPro Connect's total liability for any claim related to the Platform or these Terms is limited to the greater of $500 or the amount you paid directly to DermPro Connect for Platform access during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some limitations may not apply to you.
23. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DermPro Connect and its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, service providers, and users from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to: your use of the Platform; your User Content; your patient care decisions; your breach of these Terms; your violation of law or professional obligations; your submission of PHI; your misrepresentation of credentials; or your negligence, misconduct, or willful acts.
24. Governing Law, Arbitration, and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
To the extent permitted by law, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be resolved by binding arbitration in Illinois. You and DermPro Connect waive the right to a jury trial and agree to bring claims only on an individual basis, not as part of a class, collective, or representative action.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking temporary or preliminary injunctive relief where appropriate.
25. Changes to These Terms
DermPro Connect may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email, in-app notice, website posting, or another reasonable method. Your continued use of the Platform after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
