By creating an account, accessing, or using DermPro Connect (“we,” “our,” “us,” or the “Platform”), you (“you,” “your,” “Clinician User”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

You acknowledge that DermPro Connect is in a beta testing phase and functionality may be incomplete, contain errors, or be modified without notice.

2. Eligibility

You represent and warrant that:

  • You are a licensed healthcare professional (e.g., physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant) in good standing, authorized to provide clinical care in your jurisdiction.

  • You will maintain all required licenses, certifications, and malpractice coverage during your use of the Platform.

  • You will immediately notify us of any suspension, restriction, or revocation of your license.

3. Scope of Services

DermPro Connect provides a platform for peer-to-peer dermatology consultations and related educational resources.
DermPro Connect does not provide medical care, diagnosis, or treatment to patients.
Services may include:

  • Peer consultations (subscription-based or pay-per-use).

  • Extended consultations.

  • Non-CME educational content (CME activities may be offered in the future under separate terms).

4. No Patient–Expert Relationship

Consultations through the Platform:

  • Are for informational and educational purposes only.

  • Do not create a physician–patient or provider–patient relationship between you and any Expert.

  • Are not a substitute for your independent clinical judgment.

  • Must not be used as the sole basis for urgent or emergent patient care decisions.

Emergency Protocol: If you believe a patient requires emergency care, you must follow local emergency protocols (e.g., call 911 in the U.S.).

5. Clinical Responsibility

You retain full and sole responsibility for all medical decisions, patient care, and treatment outcomes, including whether and how to use any information obtained through the Platform.
You agree to:

  • Verify all information before applying it in patient care.

  • Document your own clinical reasoning in the patient’s medical record.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards of care.

6. Case Submission & De-Identification

You agree to:

  • Remove all Protected Health Information (PHI) before submitting any case.

  • Follow the de-identification checklist provided during submission.

  • Accept that DermPro Connect may delete or refuse cases that contain PHI.

7. Payment Terms

  • Basic Subscription: $228/year – 5 consultations/year (10 min each).

  • Premium Subscription: $408/year – 10 consultations/year (10 min each).

  • Pay-Per-Use: $50 per 10-minute consultation.

  • Extended Consultations: $250 per 15-minute increment, payable directly to Experts.

  • Payments are processed via Stripe; PHI must not be entered into payment forms.

  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled. Unused consults expire annually.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DermPro Connect, its affiliates, directors, employees, contractors, and Experts from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

  • Your breach of these Terms.

  • Your use or misuse of the Platform.

  • Your patient care decisions and actions.

9. Disclaimer of Medical Advice

All content, consultations, and recommendations available through the Platform are for educational purposes only and are not medical advice.
You must always use your own professional judgment and, when appropriate, consult with other licensed professionals in person.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • DermPro Connect’s total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $500 or the total subscription fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages.

  • Each party is responsible for its own negligence or misconduct.

11. Malpractice Coverage

You must maintain professional liability insurance covering your activities on the Platform and provide proof upon request.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by Illinois law. Any dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration in Illinois, except where prohibited by law.

 13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for any breach of these Terms, legal non-compliance, or conduct we deem harmful to the Platform or its users.

14. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-platform notice. Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance.
